Right and wrong will cost you....

Lizzie Luck is magical. Apparently. The DNA test came back proving she's from the otherworld.

She's unemployed, has 24 dollars in her account, and is so out of luck it's killing her.

Things couldn't get worse, right?

Wrong.

When she winds up in the police station and comes to the attention of the city's richest, most charming and most powerful vampire, her fortunes take a turn for the worse. Soon she finds herself under contract to him. She has to agree to his terms, and in return, he'll find out who she is....

From magical murders to dangerously attractive vampires, Lizzie is thrust headfirst into a world of intrigue, mystery, and fantasy.
....

With plenty of action, adventure, wit, and romance, Angel Private Eye is sure to please fans of Witch's Bell. A seven-book series, the first two books are currently available.

The premise for this book could have been incredible. It wasn't unique but it was interesting but the portrayal of Lizzie just killed it entirely. I have honestly never forced myself to finish reading anything because I love books period. Be them good or bad. But this crap was just so bad that I actually put it down and was like "no I can't read this rubbish any longer." But forced myself to because I never leave a book halfway read. Sarah was a better character than Lizzie and she was in four scenes. Lizzie has got to be the weakest, stupidest, annoying female protagonist in the history of fiction!!! The author couldn't decide if Lizzie was supposed to be stupid or a nuisance. She'd go from being this cowardly lion to being ferocious and waspish around Benton only. I just can't. There is no redeeming quality for this book. It's just THAT bad.

Angel Private Eye Book One eBook Odette C Bell Reviews

I enjoyed this book! It had an interesting twist to it! Would love to read the second book! Hope I can get it!.
Short and sweet... Odelle did it again. I am know love with this author.. Her heroines are always amazing..

Cannot wait to read the rest. She's knew of the most prolific and lovely writers of urban fantasy with a splash of clean romance. I can't get enough of her!!!!
Enjoyable. Entertaining. There are some rather obvious timeline/ plot issues but they are fairly easy to overlook. If you can't tolerate spelling, grammar and wrong word issues, there are a few spots those things are a bit jarring. Overall, I liked it quite a bit.
Angel Private Eye Book One
I enjoyed this book, i loved Lizzie's power when she got scared or mad etc and i love the tension between her and William Benson III, few errors and some story problems, but otherwise was a good read, unfortunately i wont download any of the other books in the series for the simple fact that i was pay that money for short stories. shorts stories need to be cheaper!
I'll be honest I didn't get past the first 3-5 chapters. This is one of those books that i just can't force myself to keep reading. I'm sure that I've read other books by Bell, but this one is just painfully stupid. And the only reason is because of the female lead.
I know I advocate for more variety in fiction, more opposites of the norm, but the heroine, whose name I can't remember for the life of me (....Luck? Lizzie Luck? I don't even know where to begin on how ironic that zis because her life is crap from page one), is never who you want to be COMPLETELY opposite of the norm. She is an anti-heroine. The only one of her kind that I know of. I have never seen a character more meek, idiotic and naive. Also sure that my two year old cousin could beat her up and play her role better... and he's a boy.
If Lizzie portrayed aome of the meekness and naivete but still had somewhat of a backbone, I'm sure I could have made it through this book. As it is, I'm burying this book in my pile of "Mind Numbing" reads.
interesting story, very similar to her other works. the heroine in this book is a bit annoying. I hate how she keeps asking people to repeat things, such a slow dimwitted heroine. what's up with always biting her lips and nails? she doesn't tell her boss when something comes up, she doesn't have a back bone unless she is around Benson then her stupidity flares up even more. would have been a great book if there was a stronger female lead.
Bell is a prolific writer across many genres. She often has very interesting starting points for her books, but as a general rule she follows the same formula in all her work. You have an uber male and a insecure woman thrown together told through alternating first person narrative. This book is a little different for her. First it is longer then she usually writes. Most of her books hover around one hundred and ninety pages. This one is at two hundred and forty is long for her. It has an interesting setup with Lizzie a librarian losing her job as she is defined by a blood test as a paranormal and the new law says she can not work with normals. The problem is the the plot is a mess. Lizzie as a character is simply unbelievable. Always crying, foolishly brave and most of the rest of the characters interact rarely with her yet we are expected to believe she has established close relationships with all of them. The plot just lacks the internal structure to support the story.
